3 Routes to discover Mallorca with one of our road bikes.

1 - Formentor, Port de Pollensa and Port d’Alcudia.

Performing this route fully, is suitable for cyclists in good shape or for those cyclists who train regularly doing many kilometers on a road bike. This route is at the north end of the island that runs through one of the iconic points such as the Cape of Formentor, the Creueta viewpoint and Pollença Bay.

We are facing a 97-kilometer route with intense slopes, those less experienced cyclists who dare with this route, can choose to make only a part of it.

The route starts from the town of Sa Pobla towards Campanet. Cycling on the camí vell you reach Pollensa and then continue till the Port de Pollensa. It is highly recommended to stop along the way in the Mirador de la Creueta, to enjoy the views.

We continue along the road that goes to the Cap Formentor Lighthouse, the hardest part of this bike ride, but also the most beautiful on the road. Once at the lighthouse we recommend to rest and enjoying the incredible panoramic view of the cape.

All that remains is to retrace the climb path we have made. Return to Port de Polensa and turn off towards Port d'Alcudia, surrounding La Albufera, a beautiful swamp declared as National Park, and return to Sa Pobla.

2 - The three tops: Son Salvador, Cura and Bonany.

A route only for the bravest on a road bike. At the east end of the island we find this 125-kilometer route. The idea is to complete three of the main tops of the island of Mallorca: Son Salvador, Cura and Bonany.

The start of this mega route takes place from Porto Cristo and follow the Bays of Mallorca road. The first summit is climbed, Son Salvador. Then we go to the interior of the island, by Campos and Llucmajor and climb the second peak, Cura. Those who are still able to endure must enter the ‘pla’ of Mallorca, towards Bonany crossing the towns of Montuiri and Sant Joan, to reach the most complicated of the three peaks: Petra.

From Petra, you just have to enjoy the trip to Porto Cristo, from there on the road is downhill.

3 - The east coast and its bays.

A 78-kilometer route along the east coast of the island of Mallorca. We leave from Cala Millor and pass through Sa Coma to reach the San Salvador sanctuary in Felanitx.

The route is flat along the first 35 kilometers, when you arrive in Porto Cristo the landscape changes and begins a climb of about 5 kilometers to the sanctuary of San Salvador, in Felanitx. Following the route, the ideal is to stop by the bays of this area: Cala Romantica, Cala Magrana and Cala Murada.

We advise you to visit the spectacular Caves of Drach, in Manacor. These caves constitute one of the main tourist attractions of the island, and are, without a doubt, one of the most outstanding of the island, since they have a horizontal development close to 1,200 meters in length and a depth, at its maximum level of 25 m under the surface. The caves hide inside a large underground lake, Lake Martel, considered one of the largest underground lakes in the world.
